Learning begins with reading |
“Literacy is the base on which all learning is built-in school and in life. It provides a way to climb out of poverty, get a good job, and be a productive citizen.…” (Hasselbring, 2012) Give your child the tools they need to become the most efficient reader they can be. According to the NAEP only 66% of 4th graders are reading at the basic achievement level of reading and only 35% are proficient (2019).* Building a competent reader improves more than just literacy success, it helps them in all aspects of life. To read is to learn, think, and grow. It's never to late or too early to help your child become a better reader. |
